A scenic accessory in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. It holds tufts of grass in the green, that is the growing-season, variant. It is not a kit or a model of equipment but a material for making terrain. The tufts are set onto a finished surface of a diorama, onto a base under a vehicle or onto the base of a figure, and they give a scene scale as well as a contrast of color.
Green tufts match the growing season, that is spring and summer. They come into their own on meadows, at the shoulders of roads, between ruts worn into the soil, by walls and fences, in cracks in concrete and anywhere grass grows faster because nobody cuts it. It is precisely the irregularity that is the key: grass never grows evenly, it keeps to the edges, to sheltered spots and to places wheels do not run over. The tufts combine well with loose granulate, static grass and pigments, thanks to which a smooth transition between bare soil and growth arises.
Place the tufts with tweezers and press them against the base, so that no visible gap is left between the roots and the terrain. If the base does not hold them, use a drop of PVA glue or a thin scenery glue. Credibility is helped if the tufts do not stay one color: give them a light spray from above or go over them with a dry brush in a lighter, more yellowish shade and dust the lower part with pigment in the color of the surrounding soil. Alternate taller and shorter tufts and leave free places between them, otherwise the area reads as a carpet. At the end even the whole scene out with a light dust filter.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, that is in its basic shade. Glue, paints and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
