This item belongs to the RYE FIELD MODEL upgrade line and is meant for a model of the T-34/85 Model 1944 medium tank from the production of factory No. 183. It is not a kit of the vehicle: you will not find a hull, a turret or running gear in the package. The set serves to bring a part-built or finished model of the same type closer to the real subject in detail. The make-up of the package differs between individual releases and is stated on the box. Before the build, check that the set matches the kit you have at home and the stage your build has reached.
The T-34/85 Model 1944 is a late development branch of the Soviet T-34 medium tank. Against the older machines with a 76.2 mm gun it received a larger three-man turret and an 85 mm gun, which called for a wider turret ring and a different division of work in the crew. Vehicles from the individual factories differed in a whole range of details: the shape of the turret casting, the design of the hatches, the stowage of the tools and the auxiliary tanks or the type of road wheels. It is precisely these differences that decide whether a model matches a particular production series, and accessory sets are aimed at them.
Take the small parts off with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch scissors and level the sprue gate marks with a fine-grit file. Degrease the metal and photo-etched parts before gluing and spray them with primer, or neither paint nor weathering will hold on the smooth surface. Fit them at the stage when the model is still open and accessible, because once the hull is closed up many places are out of reach. Run the painting from the base shade through a dark wash into the engraved panel lines and on to pigments for dust and mud effects. On the running gear it pays to try the shades first on a waste part.
It is an accessory set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
