The set in thin brass sheet sharpens up the Meng plastic kit of the American Cougar 6x6 MRAP wheeled armored vehicle in 1:35 scale: usually the grilles, the grab handles, the covers, the lifting eyes and other fine elements of the bodywork and the hull.
The Cougar is an American wheeled armored vehicle of the MRAP category, resistant to mines and ambushes, with a characteristic V-shaped hull that deflects the energy of an explosion. The 6x6 version is the longer variant with more seats. Cougar vehicles were deployed intensively in Iraq and Afghanistan to protect their crews from improvised explosive devices.
The photo-etched parts in thin brass sheet are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bent over an edge or in a bending tool and bonded best with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is a good idea to degrease both the photo-etch and the plastic before gluing. The finished surface is treated with a primer and sprayed with an airbrush, and the weathering is built up with washes and pigments.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
