US Motorcycles 1:35 (Italeri) — an injection-molded plastic set of American military motorcycles of the Second World War including soldier figures, an ideal basis for a small diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Italeri captures American military motorcycles of the Second World War together with soldier figures. The set belongs to the range devoted to the Normandy landings and offers a rewarding basis for a smaller diorama scene. The parts are molded in olive plastic; the combination of machines and figures lets you build a lively scene from the rear areas as well as from near the front.
Heavy Harley-Davidson motorcycles served the American army as liaison and staff vehicles, and the military police used them as well for directing traffic and unit movements. The rugged machines proved themselves wherever orders had to be passed quickly at a time when radio communication was not something to be taken for granted. It is exactly this pairing of motorcycle and figures that illustrates the everyday reality of the Allied armies after the landings of 1944.
Use thin cement for plastic on the small parts, as it wicks into the joints. It is practical to paint the frame and the engine before the final assembly. Paint the bodywork and the tank olive drab and bring the polished and leather details to life by hand with a brush. Paint the figures separately: the base first, then the faces and the equipment, and a fine wash at the end to bring out the folds. Dry pigment on the fenders will give the machines the look of a dusty country road.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
