An item from the modern Black Dog line tied to the M1070 tractor, that is to the road transporter used to move armored hardware. The name gives a multi-figure arrangement, which makes sense with this type of vehicle: the crew of a heavy rig cannot manage without help in loading and securing the load.
A tractor and semi-trailer rig is long and low, so it fits badly onto an ordinary base. The solution is usually a cutaway scene: the rear of the semi-trailer with the loading ramps, a piece of roadway and the figures around it. The viewer fills in the rest of the rig and the scene still keeps a legible story. In such a composition the figures act as the scale and at the same time show where the center of attention lies with the vehicle, namely at the hardware being loaded.
Seat the figures only once the roadway and the ramps are finished, otherwise you will not reach the groundwork under them with a brush. Think about which figure you give a gaze out of the scene; one averted gaze opens up the space beyond the edge of the base for the whole composition. Keep the colors of the worn work gloves and boots darker than on figures on foot, because the crew of a transporter works with steel, cables and grease.
