Accessory equipment for models of vehicles and dioramas in 1:35 scale. The name of the item determines the water form, the mark of the maker, the year 1944 and a quantity of twelve pieces. From GasPatch models.
Toward the end of the war American units were supplying an enormous amount of equipment and portable containers were absolutely ordinary inventory of every vehicle. Water pieces were carried several at a time, usually nearer the place where the crew rested, whereas fuel tended to have its fixed frames. On a model the two therefore need not be stacked into one heap: a different placement is in itself a detail that an experienced eye notices.
A vehicle of 1944 commonly carried containers produced a year or two earlier, so you need not fear mixing several sets together. It is exactly the variety that looks convincing: some of the pieces freshly painted, others rubbed down to the metal, one with a dented side. You create the differences with shades of the base color, a slightly different degree of dustiness and a different angle of stowage. At the end unify the whole with a weak veil of dust from one direction. It is rewarding to leave one container lying aside in the grass, as if someone had forgotten it while loading.
