The JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) is a modern American tactical vehicle from Oshkosh Defense that is replacing the older Humvee in the United States armed forces. It combines high cross-country mobility with markedly better crew protection and modular armor. The M1278A1 Heavy Guns Carrier version carries a remotely operated weapon station and serves for fire support. The vehicle is powered by a turbocharged diesel engine and has independent suspension.
With a modern wheeled vehicle it pays to assemble and paint the chassis, the drivetrain and the cab interior before the body is closed up. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate); fit the vinyl tires only after painting. Apply a primer before painting and spray the color with an airbrush in thin coats. Tune the weathering with dark washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis and the wheels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
