Vectar is a figure of its own cast from modeling resin in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of equipment and not an accessory for a particular model, as it is a figure object which a modeler builds, paints and uses either in a scene with a model or as a piece of its own on a base. Resin was chosen for figures because of the sharpness of the detail, which injected plastic cannot hold at this size.
Alternity Miniatures issues original figures and busts on post-apocalyptic and fantasy subjects. The figures are stylized and stay legible even once painted, which makes them a rewarding target for painters who do not want to build yet another uniformed figure. Check the appearance of the particular figure against the data of the manufacturer before buying, as with original small sculpture the sculpting of the face and the overall silhouette decide.
Before any work, wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry; residual mold release agent from the mold is the most frequent cause of peeling paint. Cut the casting blocks away with a saw or a sharp knife, and do the sanding wet and with protection of the airways. Glue the joints with super glue (cyanoacrylate); liquid glue for plastic does not bite into resin. Apply the primer in a thin layer, so that the detail is not clogged, and only then paint, using acrylics for quick work and clean edges, oils for soft transitions on the skin and the fabrics. A final unifying coat of matte varnish rids the surface of unwanted sheens.
The figure is supplied unpainted, as a casting in resin. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
