A separate resin figure in 1:35. The figure carries ammunition boxes for an MG-42 machine gun, which for a modeler is above all information about the load and the lean of the body, that is about how the figure will stand in a scene. The Waffen-SS marking is a statement about the type of uniform, that is about the cut of the clothing and the camouflage pattern. The Anorakanzug is a winter suit of anorak cut with a loose blouse and trousers, on period examples with a reversible treatment, white and camouflaged.
The use in a scene
The figure is the logical counterpart to the machine gunner from the same line. A figure with a carried burden works in a scene as an element of movement that breaks up the static standing of the other figures. Judge how the casting is split into parts by the illustration on the packaging.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the remains of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and level the faces after the cut with a file; sand resin wet and with your breathing protected. Look over the parting lines against the light and scrape any flash off with a scalpel. Glue the hands and the carried boxes with cyanoacrylate glue, fill the gaps and sand them down, so that the transition does not show.
Start the painting with a primer. Build the white side of the suit on a light gray base and use pure white only on the crests of the folds. Paint the camouflaged surface in the order base, larger blotches, fine drawing with a thin brush, and finally a fine filter to bring it together. The ammunition boxes are a rewarding detail: build them on a subdued base, wipe the edges with a dry brush and add small scrapes, so that they read as an often used object. Bring the folds out with a dark wash. Paint the skin separately. At the end bring the surface together with a matte clear coat and dust the lower part of the figure with pigment to match the base.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
