The BMP-2 is an infantry fighting vehicle of Soviet design with a two-man turret and a rapid-fire 30 mm cannon, which supplemented the older BMP-1 with its 73 mm gun. Its deployment in Chechnya put it into a setting it had never been built for, that is into urban terrain and mountainous country, where the vehicles moved in columns and their crews improvised with added protection. Markings from these years tend to be restrained: tactical numbers on the turret or on the hull sides, now and then rounded out by a unit sign or quick identification stripes.
The turret of the BMP-2 is small and its sides are sloped and divided up, so a larger number is hard to place on it. Lay the position out dry before applying. Put the gloss varnish only under the decal, use a setting solution once it is seated and carefully nick the film across the edges of plates. Vehicles from this setting tend to be heavily dusted. If you plan bold weathering, let it run partly over the markings too, so that they do not look like fresh paint.
The package holds the decals themselves. The model, the paints and the varnishes do not belong to it.
