A set of injection-molded plastic figures from Tamiya in 1:35 scale, capturing the crew of a German tank of the Second World War. The box holds figures intended to bring a tank model and a diorama to life: there are both full figures and half (torso) figures designed for open hatches and the commander's cupola. These are figures only; no vehicle or tank is included in the package.
Wehrmacht tank crews wore the characteristic black uniforms (and field gray in the self-propelled artillery), headset sets and field or peaked caps. The poses in the set catch typical crew situations: scanning the ground with binoculars, studying a map, a commander signaling a move and crew members leaning out of the hatches. The figures suit tanks and dioramas from various fronts.
Spray or brush the base coat on and then shade it. For the flesh tones (faces and hands), layering shades and gentle drybrushing to bring out the features work well. Unify the uniforms with a filter and bring out the folds of the fabric with a dark wash; emphasize the buttons, buckles and insignia with drybrushing. Careful work on the faces decides the final impression.
The set of figures is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The vehicle, glue and paints are not included in the package.
