A figure set in 1:35 scale set in the spring of 1943, in other words in the setting of the Second World War. The name of the scene suggests a moment of meeting and recognition: sets like this are usually built so that the figures hold together through an action rather than merely standing side by side. How many figures the package holds and what poses they take is given on the box and in the manufacturer's information.
A figure around one hundred and seventy-five centimeters tall comes out at roughly five centimeters in this scale. That is enough for the face, the belt and the small gear to be worked up, and at the same time the figures sit well with models of military equipment in the same scale. It is precisely the pairing of figures with a vehicle or a piece of setting that gives a diorama its action: equipment on its own shows neither the size nor the tension of a scene.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting and cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part. Assemble the figures but leave the heads and hands loose and paint them separately, otherwise you will not reach the neck and the face. Build the skin up in layers from a darker base to lighter high points, then knock the uniform back with a dark glaze in the folds and pull out the edges with a dry brush. Finally unify the whole with a matte varnish.
Paints, glue, a display base and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
