Wooden crates are among the most versatile equipment of a scene. Ammunition, spare parts, food and tools were carried in them, from stores through stations to the beds of vehicles. That is exactly why they suit military and civilian dioramas and are not tied to one army or one period.
Crates will fill the empty bed of a truck, a trailer or a hand cart, they stack up against the wall of a store and they also serve as something for a figure to stand or sit on. A stacked arrangement also breaks up the flat area of a board nicely and gives a scene height. Some of the crates can be left open or overturned so that the view does not look tidy and squared away.
Cut away excess material and traces of manufacture with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the spot. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on non-absorbent surfaces cyanoacrylate glue works well. If you are going to stack the crates, put the stack together dry first, and only once it sits well glue the parts and set them on the board.
The set is suitable for builders of dioramas, vignettes and vehicle models who need a believable load or equipment for a scene. Paints, glue, the board and the model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
