Resting French Great War infantry, a 1:35 set. A package for putting together a whole rear-area group for a diorama. The Dynamo-Models brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package marked Set in the name brings together figures of French First World War infantry in a resting situation, 1:35 scale, made by Dynamo-Models. Compared with the separately sold figure of the same subject, it is meant straight away for putting a whole group together.
Resting infantry appeared in rear areas: by a wooden shelter, among ammunition crates, at the edge of a shelled village or by a field kitchen. Such a place gives a diorama a story that a combat scene on its own cannot offer, and it does without a large model of hardware. Small things that tell their own story suit a tableau like this: a helmet set aside, a mess tin standing on a crate or a greatcoat spread out instead of a bench.
Do not line the figures up side by side. A group looks alive when the figures engage with one another by eye and their axes converge on a single point. Different eye heights pay off, that is one figure lower and another higher, with a small division between them in the form of a crate or a tree stump. Finish the base completely and dust it before you set the figures down permanently.
