Eduard 1:35 Zimmerit Tiger I late is an application set imitating the Zimmerit anti-magnetic coating for the Tiger I tank of late production. This is an accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech maker Eduard serves to imitate the Zimmerit surface finish realistically on a model of the German Tiger I tank in the late production form, 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the tank but an accessory, which imitates the characteristic ridged structure of the anti-magnetic coating on the armor surfaces of the vehicle.
Zimmerit was a paste-like material applied during the Second World War to the vertical armor surfaces of German vehicles to keep magnetic mines from sticking to them. It created a typical patterned surface. The Tiger I of late production was a heavy tank armed with a gun of 88 mm caliber and ranked among the most feared vehicles of its day.
Lay the set on a clean and degreased surface of the model according to the enclosed layout and glue it with super glue. Work patiently surface by surface, so that the pattern carries over. Once it has dried, go on with a base coat and weathering in the usual way; the structure of the Zimmerit comes out beautifully after washes and dry brushing have been applied.
This is an add-on Zimmerit application set, not a model of the tank. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
