A wooden deck for a model of the battleship Tirpitz in 1:350 scale, cut for the Academy kit listed under the number BA903.
Responsibility details are not available.
The plastic deck of a model renders the planks only with shallow engraving, which largely disappears once paint is sprayed on. A wooden piece in its place brings the real grain of wood with the naturally uneven shades of the individual strips, so the surface behaves differently every time the model is turned. On a ship the size of Tirpitz this is the largest continuous area in the viewer's line of sight from above, and the difference is therefore visible at once.
The set is cut for a model in 1:350 scale, to the Academy kit listed under kit number BA903. Tirpitz was the sister ship of Bismarck and the largest surface unit of the Kriegsmarine; she served mainly in Norwegian waters and was sunk in 1944.
First remove the raised detail and unevenness from the plastic deck, because even a small bump shows under a thin piece as a bulge. Check in the instructions from the manufacturer whether the piece is self-adhesive or is glued separately. Try the fit dry, lay the piece from one edge and press it down gradually so that no wave is left. The natural shade of the wood is usually kept; try any varnish on an offcut first.
The deck piece alone is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
