1:350 German Bismarck Battleship Deck Masking is an Artwox Model aid that separates the deck areas of a model of the German battleship during spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Artwox Model accompanies the building of a model of the German battleship Bismarck in the ratio 1:350. It is fitted at the moment when the shade of the deck is separated from the vertical surfaces of the hull and the superstructures. On a ship of this size those are long edges on which every buckle of the tape shows at once and is hard to put right.
The Bismarck entered service in August 1940 and became the largest unit the Kriegsmarine sent to sea at that time. Eight 38 cm guns were complemented by massive armor and by an unusually high speed for so heavy a vessel. During her sortie into the Atlantic in May 1941 she sank the British battlecruiser Hood in the Denmark Strait, after which a torpedo from an aircraft and a subsequent attack by a British force stopped her following a pursuit of several days. She went to the bottom on 27 May 1941.
Let the base shade cure properly and rid the surface of dust. Lay the set down in one piece, do not stretch it and press the edges down thoroughly. Apply the paint in two thin coats, because one heavy coat gets under the edge. Peel it off slowly and at an angle, then go over the finished boundary with a brush and a dark glaze.
