Injection-molded plastic kit of the British nuclear attack submarine HMS Astute in 1:350 scale from Hobby Boss. The box contains a full-hull model with a finely engraved surface, photo-etched parts, decals and a stand with a nameplate.
HMS Astute is the lead boat of the class of the same name of the most modern attack submarines of the Royal Navy. These are nuclear-powered vessels whose reactor is designed so that it needs no refueling for the whole life of the boat. Astute class submarines are built for the quiet hunting of other submarines and of surface targets and for the other tasks of a modern navy.
Glue the hull with thin cement for plastic and sand the seams carefully so that the smooth sides of the submarine look like one piece. Attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting to reveal any imperfections. Modern submarines tend to be in dark gray to black shades, so a matte clear coat suits them better than gloss. Pick out the fine panel lines discreetly with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
