HMS Dreadnought 1915 1:350 is a photo-etched detail set from Eduard for the model of the British battleship HMS Dreadnought in her 1915 configuration, in 1:350 scale. It is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a ship model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An extensive set of etched parts meant to add detail to the model of the British battleship HMS Dreadnought as she was in 1915, in 1:350 scale. It is not a ship kit but a set of fine metal accessories that replace the coarser plastic features and give the model a look that is true to scale. The 1915 subject differs from the original 1907 appearance in changes to the superstructures and the armament.
The etched parts here usually include railings, ladders, companionways, platforms, details of cranes, boats and gun turrets and other fine features that cannot be molded in plastic at the right thickness. The model gains an airiness and a precision that plastic alone cannot offer.
Separate railings and long strips only just before fitting so that they do not twist. Bend them in a photo-etch bender and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small amount. It works well to proceed in sections and to leave the hull part-built so that the decks stay accessible. Once degreased, photo-etch holds paint well; an airbrush and fine pigments for weathering work well.
This is an add-on set, not a ship model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
