An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese destroyer Kagerou in 1:350 scale from Tamiya. The model can be built as a full hull or in the waterline version; photo-etched metal parts and decals are included in the package. The set is built by gluing plastic parts and is meant to be painted.
The Kagerou was the lead ship of the class of Japanese destroyers of the same name from the Second World War period. She entered service at the end of the 1930s and took part in a number of operations in the Pacific, among them escort and supply duties. She met her fate in 1943.
With ship models, paint the deck and the superstructures in sections before the final assembly. Work with the photo-etched parts (the railings, for example) using cyanoacrylate glue. Apply the base with an airbrush, and light washes will bring out the deck detail. Decide in advance between the full hull version on a stand and the waterline version.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
