The Trumpeter aircraft carrier USS Hornet CV-8 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier in 1:350 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier USS Hornet as she was in 1942, from Trumpeter in 1:350 scale. The model offers a detailed flight deck and hangar deck and a set of carrier aircraft. Thanks to the lower hull and a waterline plate you can build it as a full-hull model on a stand or in a waterline version. Check the exact contents on the box.
USS Hornet was an aircraft carrier of the Yorktown class that entered service at the end of 1941. She became famous for launching sixteen B-25 bombers on the Doolittle Raid against Japan in April 1942 and for the fighting at Midway atoll. Later that same year Japanese strikes sank her in the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands. The kit holds carrier aircraft and markings for both famous operations.
Build the large model in sections — the hull, the hangar deck, the flight deck and the island. Use a thin cement for plastic and coats through an airbrush in shades of gray and of the wooden flight deck. Decide beforehand on the full-hull or the waterline version. Paint the aircraft and apply their decals separately; railings will raise the realism. You display the model on the enclosed stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
