This is not a ship model but a set of turned metal gun barrels in 1:350 scale from the Polish maker MASTER. The set contains 20 barrels of 5 inch (127 mm) caliber of the Mark 12 type in the form for turrets without canvas blast bags. The metal barrels replace the plastic parts from a kit with an accurate profile and a sharp muzzle, and their high number covers even ships with extensive secondary and dual-purpose armament.
The 5 inch L/38 gun of the Mark 12 type was a dual-purpose naval gun that armed practically the whole wartime fleet of the US Navy in the Second World War, from destroyers through cruisers to battleships and aircraft carriers. It served against surface and aerial targets alike and became a symbol of American firepower.
Cut the barrels off the remains of the casting and clean up the ends. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a metal primer. The barrel muzzles are already drilled, so you get a realistic view into the barrel without laboriously drilling plastic.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
