Eduard 1:350 USS Constellation CV-64, part 2 with the deck aircraft is a photo-etched set aimed at the air park on the deck. It deals with the details of the tiny aircraft models, not with the hull of the ship.

A photo-etched detail set in 1:350 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for a model of the American aircraft carrier USS Constellation. It is an accessory, not a kit. This part of the series differs from the others in where it belongs on the model: it is not aimed at the hull nor at the superstructure but at the aircraft on the flight deck. In this scale the deck machines are only a few centimeters in size and their plastic shapes tend to be simplified, so thin metal parts will make the greatest difference to the eye on them. The other parts of the same range, sold separately, deal with the boats, the railings, the hull with the deck and the superstructure.
An aircraft carrier of the Kitty Hawk class carried a mixed air group, in which several generations of carrier aircraft took their turn over the decades of service, from fighter and attack machines to aircraft for reconnaissance, radar patrol and anti-submarine work. It is precisely the parked and spread-out aircraft that give a model of an aircraft carrier scale and life, because the deck by itself is otherwise a large empty area.
Work on one level above a surface with a light background, as tiny parts are otherwise very hard to find. Separate the photo-etched parts with a scalpel, not with cutters, and sort them straight into a dish. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, as an excess shows immediately on a small aircraft. It is practical to paint the aircraft before fitting the photo-etched parts and to finish the fine details on the completed, dried model. Degrease the brass before painting and spray a primer on. Anyone who wants movement on the deck can finish some of the aircraft with the wings folded and spread them out in groups, as can be seen in photographs of decks.
It is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
