The USS Independence is the lead ship of the class of the same name of littoral combat ships. It was designed as a fast and modular vessel for operations in shallow coastal waters; thanks to its trimaran hull it reaches speeds of over 40 knots and can take on various missions according to interchangeable modules. It entered service in 2010.
Build the model in sections — hull, flight deck, hangar and superstructure. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate. The extensive smooth surfaces need careful airbrush coats and a good primer base so that the modern gray finish comes out. Railings and fine details will raise the realism; the model can be displayed on the enclosed stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
