Responsibility details are not available.
This full photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is the first part of a multi-part detailing range for a model of the American aircraft carrier USS Ranger CV-4 in 1:350 scale. The set is not a model of the ship; it serves as an upgrade that replaces the simplified plastic parts with fine metal ones and moves the build up a class.
USS Ranger was the first American aircraft carrier designed and built from the keel up directly for that role rather than converted from another hull. It entered service in 1934 and during the Second World War operated mainly in the Atlantic; its aircraft made a marked mark during the landings in North Africa in the autumn of 1942. Its smaller dimensions and distinctive silhouette make it an interesting counterpoint to the later fast carriers; it spent the end of its career mainly training carrier pilots.
Separate the parts from the fret with a scalpel on a hard surface and clean the edges up with a fine file. A bending tool, or at least two razor blades, pays off for the bends; cyanoacrylate applied with a pin handles the gluing reliably. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer, otherwise the paint holds poorly.
