The plastic kit Tamiya 1:350 Yamato represents the famous Japanese battleship as she appeared on her last sortie.
Responsibility details are not available.
A newly developed injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese battleship Yamato in 1:350 scale from Tamiya. The model represents the ship as she appeared on her last sortie and can be built either as a waterline model or as a full-hull version on a stand. Photo-etched parts for the fine items such as the ladders and the cranes are included.
Yamato was a Japanese battleship of the Second World War and, together with her sister ship, among the largest and most heavily armed battleships ever built. She carried enormous main-battery guns and massive armor. On her last sortie she sailed against Allied forces off Okinawa, where she was sunk after massive air attacks. The model matches this late form of the ship, with strengthened anti-aircraft armament.
Decide between the waterline and the full-hull version in advance. Thanks to the separate parts, the deck and the superstructures can be painted in detail; attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Spray the hull and the decks with an airbrush, pick out the panel and plank lines with a wash and unify the surface with a matte coat. Fit the small armament parts at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
