306 Maxi White matches the white body of the Peugeot 306 Maxi asphalt kit car, with which Gilles Panizzi collected victories in the second half of the 1990s.

The shade comes from the body of the Peugeot 306 Maxi, that is the rally version of an ordinary hatchback reworked to the rules of the so-called kit cars. White made up the whole area of the car, and the enlarged wheels, deeply drawn fenders and massive sills showed on it all the better.
The 306 Maxi relied neither on forced induction nor on four-wheel drive. It had a naturally aspirated engine, drove the front wheels only and, against the rivals of the premier class, counted on low weight and precise line holding. On asphalt rallies that was enough to keep pace with considerably more powerful cars, and Gilles Panizzi made a discipline of his own out of the twisting French asphalt event with it. The car is still an example of the era when national championships were run with different machinery from the world championship. For a modeler it is also interesting for how sharp a transition the light body makes against the black fender flares and the dark wheels.
It aims at modelers focused on asphalt rallies of the 1990s, for whom a universal white is not enough and who want a tone tied to one car. With the 306 Maxi it is worth counting on the rally version having different fender and sill geometry from the production hatchback, so on a model the light surface breaks in a different place than on a kit of the civilian car.
