GSX-RR Blue, the blue of works Suzuki bodywork

The shade is named after the Suzuki GSX-RR prototype, that is after a machine of the top category of the road racing world championships. Blue made up the main surface of its bodywork for the whole time the motorcycle was in the field.

The GSX-RR appeared in 2015, when the brand returned to the top category after a break of several years. Power was handled by an inline four-cylinder, which was a different design route from the surrounding competition with its V layout, and it showed in the behavior of the machine as well. The motorcycle had a reputation as an exceptionally good-turning whole with a calm front end, which suited riders mainly on twisting circuits. The works stable was never among the most generously funded in the field, and its results drew all the more attention for that. The works team ran in a deep darker blue completed with lighter items, and this contrast made the bodywork recognizable even from a great distance.

Who it is for

It aims at modelers who build present-day circuit motorcycles and need a tone of blue bound to a particular works stable. The universal blues of ordinary palettes tend to be visibly off with present-day machines, and on the large surface of bodywork that cannot be overlooked. Blue here moreover serves as the field on which the thin light lines only then stand out, and its tone therefore sets the final impression of a whole build. On the real subject the blue does not end at the bodywork but continues onto the fender and the covers under the seat, so it is worth counting on higher consumption.
