GSX-RR Silver is the silver component of the two-color finish of the Suzuki GSX-RR prototype, which won the top category in 2020.

The shade belongs to the silver part of the finish of the Suzuki GSX-RR machine. While the main surfaces carried a darker tone, the silver appeared on the dividing surfaces, the lower sections and the small items that were meant to lighten the bodywork visually. Without it the finish of the machine looks unfinished, because it was exactly the light bands that set its division.
The brand took the GSX-RR to the title in 2020, when Joan Mir won the top category. It was a gain that Hamamatsu had waited a long run of seasons for, and the machine counted at the time as the most balanced motorcycle on the grid. The works program ended after the 2022 season, which closed the history of this type as a whole. The title year was moreover exceptional in that an unusually wide group of riders shared the wins in individual races. For a modeler it is a rewarding subject precisely because it has a clear beginning and end and can be covered by a few kits.
It suits anyone who builds the racing motorcycles of the last decade and needs a light tone that will hold up next to the deep color of the main surface. Silver tends to be overlooked with these machines, yet it holds a whole finish together and without it the bodywork looks flat. The light bands are moreover narrow and precisely drawn, so it pays to mask them in stages and not to hurry. On the real subject the silver stayed mainly on the lower edge of the bodywork and around the cutouts, that is in the places that suffer most from handling on a model.
