Responsibility details are not available.
A black shade carrying the name of the BMW R nineT motorcycle. On this subject the black does not hide the shape, quite the opposite: the roadster has an exposed engine and frame, and the dark tank above them works as a calm surface from which the aluminum and the chrome stand out.
The brand introduced the R nineT in 2014 for the ninetieth anniversary of its motorcycle production. It is powered by an air and oil cooled boxer twin of eleven hundred and seventy cubic centimeters, whose cylinders protrude to the sides and are the visually dominant item of the whole machine. The motorcycle was designed from the start so that it could be converted easily: the rear part of the frame is removable and a number of parts can be exchanged without touching the load-bearing structure. A black tank with a hand-drawn white line moreover belongs with this brand to a classic look that has been kept since the older generations of boxers.
Builders of motorcycles where most of the power unit is exposed and the dark surfaces have to be calm so that the metal holds up next to them. It also suits conversions, because black is the most common starting choice on this platform and fits any accessory. The dark surface of the real subject is divided only by a narrow light line around the edge of the tank; on a model that is done with a decal or a thin tape, and whether it looks straight is decided by a smooth ground beneath it.
