A Number 5 modeling paint in a light green pastel shade designated Rover Pastel Green, from a range named after automotive paints.
Responsibility details are not available.
A light pastel green from the Number 5 brand. The name links it with the cars of the British brand Rover; the whole Number 5 range is designated after automotive paints. The shade therefore aims above all at the bodies of car models, but you will use it anywhere the green is meant to be delicate and discreet rather than saturated and loud.
Pastel colors hold a lot of white pigment, and so they look softer and more matte than they appear in the container. At the same time they are merciless to the ground: every scratch from sanding, every gap that was not filled properly and every transition between plastic and filler announces itself under a light green. It therefore pays to sand the surface down properly and to unify it with a primer, ideally a light one. On a dark ground the shade would build up unevenly and lose its freshness.
Stir the contents of the container thoroughly before use, as settled pigment shows up particularly clearly in pastel shades. Apply several thin coats and let the surface flash off between them. For thinning, follow the manufacturer's instructions and reach for the thinner meant for this range, otherwise you risk curdled paint and a grainy finish. Wash and degrease the model before painting; on a greasy surface light paint pulls into islands.
For builders of car models looking for a subdued light green who do not want to mix it laboriously from several paints. The model, primer, thinner and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
