The light blue Light Blue belongs in the Number Five palette among the basic tones with no tie to a particular stable or car.

Most of the shades of this brand carry the name of a particular car, stable or partner. In the blue part of the palette you will find tones named after the Tyrrell, Lola and Wolf stables as well as after the fuel and tobacco partners of racing teams. Light Blue stands beside them deliberately without an attribute: it is a clean light blue bound by no particular livery or season.
Its neutrality is precisely its advantage. It finds a use everywhere a team tone would be too specific, that is on road cars of the 1960s and 1970s, on utility vehicles, on interior upholstery or as a starting point for mixing darker and more faded blues of your own. In a display case beside saturated racing blues it works as a calm counterweight that does not overpower the other cars. Light blues moreover take the emphasizing of shadows well, so even a simple body gains a three-dimensional look with them.
The one who builds road automobiles and needs a blue without a team history, or who likes to mix tones of his own and is looking for a reliable light starting point for that. Builders of dioramas will reach for it as well, where the blue is meant to complete a scene without drawing all the attention to itself. No particular car stands behind this tone, as the subject is the very placement among the light blues of the basic part of the palette.
