Racing Blue is a blue shade from the range of the Number 5 brand, whose colors bear the names of automotive paints. A racing blue is one of the colors that hold out longest on the circuits, and it suits everywhere a body is meant to come across as clean and bold. The shade comes ready, so you do not have to look for a mixing ratio and when repairing or topping up a coat you will hit the same tone.
Stir the container properly before work, as the pigment sinks to the bottom while standing. It can be applied with a brush as well as an airbrush, and you will find the thinner and the ratio of thinning in the maker's instructions. Proceed in several thin layers and let the surface flash off between them. Go over a body in one series and with the same distance of the airbrush, otherwise the gloss and the tone will differ from part to part.
A blue needs an even base, otherwise the filled and sanded places show through. First wash and degrease the model, then apply a base color and let it mature. When you are planning stripes or a two-color form, spray the lighter color first, mask it once it has matured and put the blue over it. Lay masking tape onto a perfectly dry coat and pull it off at an angle and slowly so that it does not lift an edge.
