Lola Blue is a blue shade from Number Five from the set named after the British constructor of racing cars Lola Cars.
Responsibility details are not available.
A shade from the trio that Number Five named after Lola Cars, one of the most prolific constructors of racing cars in history. Blue is in this trio the position connected with the sports cars of the marque, on which the body formed a continuous area of color with no distracting division.
The firm was founded in 1958 by Eric Broadley and was based in Huntingdon in England. It did not live from a works team of its own but from supplying chassis to customers, and that is why its cars appeared simultaneously in several series and in dozens of mutually differing liveries. Its best known type became the Lola T70 sports car of the second half of the 1960s, built as an open spyder as well as a closed coupe, which ran endurance races and North American sports series. The marque operated until 2012.
It aims at builders of historic sports cars who need a saturated blue with no purple shift, of the kind that commonly appeared on the bodies of those years. Because it was customer machinery, a whole series of color forms exists for a single type, and blue belongs among those that are available most often.
