MP4 White is a white shade from the Number 5 brand, whose paints carry the names of automotive finishes. On a car model white is a help in two ways: it covers a whole body where the car is meant to be white, and at the same time it serves as a light area under colored stripes, racing numbers and decals. The shade is mixed ready to use, so topping up a finish gives you the same tone again.
Stir the pot thoroughly before work, as white pigment settles to the bottom particularly readily. It can be applied with an airbrush as well as a brush; the thinner and the thinning ratio are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Work in several thin coats and let the surface flash off between them. White covers less well than dark shades, so accept a higher number of thin coats rather than trying it with one heavy one.
Over dark plastic and over filled and sanded areas white will stay uneven, which is why a light primer belongs underneath it. Wash and degrease the model before painting, as grease from your fingers shows through a light finish as a stain. A white surface is also unforgiving toward dust and fingerprints, and every speck stands out on it. After spraying, set the model aside under a box or in a cupboard until the paint hardens, and hold it by the parts that are not visible.
