A set of color 3D decals by Quinta Studio for a faithful cockpit fit-out in 1:48 scale. The raised, fully colored details are printed on a decal backing paper and are lifted off it in water. They bring the instrument panel, the side consoles and the belts without any painting and as a convenient alternative to photo-etch.
The Chengdu J-20 is a Chinese single-seat fifth-generation fighter with a reduced radar signature, a long fuselage, canards and modern avionics. Its fully digital cockpit with large-area displays is a characteristic feature that a color 3D decal captures vividly.
Cover the cockpit tub with a gloss varnish (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22). Cut the part out of the sheet, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on the gloss varnish, and on heavily shaped surfaces a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a fixer, because their chemicals attack the printed resin.
The set serves as an accessory for a plastic kit and is not a model on its own. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
