Roof ridge tiles in 1:72 scale from Firma49 serve to finish the ridge of buildings in smaller diorama scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory meant to finish the ridge of a model roof. In reality it is a shaped tile set on top of the roofing, which closes the gap between the opposing fields of tiles and carries the water away. The 1:72 version is markedly more delicate than those in larger scales and allows for a building being looked at as a whole rather than under a magnifier.
A smaller scale tempts you toward more extensive scenes, where there are more buildings and each one needs its roof finished. It comes into play on airfield buildings, railroad stations, village green cottages and shot-up walls alike. Because the item is small, seating it straight matters a great deal - the eye notices a crooked ridge before any other detail. In a small scale it also holds that an error in the axis of a building shows twice over.
Seat the parts with cyanoacrylate glue in small amounts so that the excess does not run down the roofing. A guide thread or a rule laid against the ridge keeps the line accurate. Choose a color somewhat paler than in the larger scales - fine shades merge on a small area, and too dark a tone turns the roof into a black patch. A final light dusting ties the roof in with the rest of the terrain. Wipe away any excess glue at once; once dry it leaves a glossy mark.
