This item is a masking set from Art Scale for a Su-30MK model in 1:48 scale, and its name carries the double-sided designation. The manufacturer also makes a single-sided version for the same type, so the two are ordered separately and differ by exactly that detail. The set serves to cover areas while spraying paint; on its own it is neither a model nor a kit, and you will find no plastic in it. The mask is cut for the Kitty Hawk kit.
The Su-30MK is the export form of the two-seat combat aircraft derived from the machines of the Su-27 family. Against the purely training two-seat version it was given equipment for long missions and for working with both air-to-surface and air-to-air weapons, which made it a universal carrier. The large airframe with its wide span and substantial center section carries considerable fuel, so the aircraft comes across more as a heavy multirole machine than as a light fighter.
On large modern airframes it pays to split the work into stages and let each coat dry thoroughly before the next masking is laid on. Run a finger or a wooden stick along the edges around the glazing so that they sit down, and lead the first pass at right angles to the edge; a thin sealing pass prevents creeping under the rim. The flat areas of the fuselage take more thinned paint and more light coats.
