A decal sheet from the AML Decals brand in 1:144 scale. The first part of a series devoted to Hawker Hurricane Mk.I machines and to Czechoslovak airmen in the Battle of Britain. The set contains markings; the model itself you obtain separately.
The Hurricane Mk.I was a single-seat fighter with a mixed covering, a combination of a tube frame, fabric and metal. In the summer and autumn of 1940 it made up the numerically strongest part of the British fighter defense, and it was on it that most of the Czechoslovak pilots who joined the fighting served. The machine was slower than the later types, but tough and easy to repair.
British camouflage schemes from 1940 have sharply divided color fields on the upper surfaces and a light underside. The boundary is helped by masking putty or a roll of modeling clay, so that a soft transition is kept. Apply the decals only onto a matured gloss varnish, and on fabric-covered surfaces take care that the motif settles between the ribs as well; a softener will serve for that.
The package contains decals for finishing a model, not a kit or paints.
