About product

Markings for the AB-206A in Finnish service, 1:144 scale

A decal sheet for a model of the light helicopter Agusta-Bell AB-206A in the form used in Finland, in 1:144 scale. It makes it possible to build the machine in markings other than those the kit encloses.

The real subject

The AB-206 is the Bell 206 helicopter, which was built under license in Italy by the Agusta firm. It is a light single-engine machine with a skid undercarriage and a glazed cabin, widespread in civil as well as military operation; it flew as a liaison, observation and training type. It is precisely thanks to the skids and the slender tail boom that it is easy to recognize even in a small scale, where details otherwise disappear.

How to apply the sheet

  • Coat the base under the decals with gloss clear; on a matte surface a silvery haze appears under the film.
  • Cut the elements out close to the artwork; the narrow edge of the carrier film is then less visible.
  • The procedure by which the elements are transferred from the sheet to the model is given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them.
  • For the small elements in 1:144 scale, use tweezers with fine tips and a damp brush to true up the position.
  • Let the finished markings dry thoroughly and finally coat everything with matte or semi-gloss clear.

Who the sheet is for

For builders of helicopters in 1:144 scale and for collectors who put the machines of one operator into one display case. The extent of the sheet, that is how many forms it contains and which kit it corresponds to, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

The model of the helicopter, paints and clear coat are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
