Rounds ready to be fired, reduced to 1:48 scale. The accessory suits everywhere a stock of ammunition is meant to be seen: by the boxes, on the platform of a combat vehicle or beside the weapon crew.
With ground hardware 1:48 scale is a minority one and accessories for it are harder to find than for the more widespread 1:35. That makes a set that brings small items with the right proportions into this scale all the more valuable. Military hardware in 1:48 also sits well alongside aircraft models, so the same ammunition will work in a scene at an airfield or by a security vehicle.
In the reduced form it is legibility that decides. Keep the case in a warm golden tone and set the tip of the projectile apart with a noticeably darker shade, otherwise the whole round will merge into a single patch of color. Tone the sheen down with a semi-matte varnish, because a sharp highlight visually inflates a small part. Working with pieces this small is made easier by curved tweezers and a drop of glue applied with the tip of a pin rather than from the nozzle. Degrease the surface before the shade goes on, or the paint will crack during handling.
What is supplied is the ammunition. The weapon, the vehicle and the tools for the build are obtained by the modeler.
