The conversion package 1:144 F-16, the wide SHARK intake and external pods changes both the silhouette and the equipment of the small Fighting Falcon model from the Revell kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory for the Revell kit aims at the modeler who wants to turn an ordinarily built machine into a particular late version. The name gives the intake labeled SHARK, the AN/ALE-50 towed decoy and the Sniper, HARM, ALQ-184 and ALQ-131 pods. Together this amounts to work on the shape of the forward fuselage as well as on the external equipment, that is to more than a cosmetic change.
Aircraft with a more powerful engine received a bulkier intake duct, which came to be nicknamed the shark mouth because of its shape. The difference from the narrower early duct is noticeable at first glance and is easily confused, because both forms flew at the same time with different users. The pods under the fuselage and the wing then hint at what role the machine filled, from marking ground targets to suppressing air defenses.
The intake means cutting the original part away, so mark the cut out first and take the material off in small steps. Spray the inside of the duct light gray before you close it up. With the pods, check the position of the pylons against photographs of the particular unit; the arrangement differs from aircraft to aircraft. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
The set serves as an upgrade to a finished kit; the aircraft itself is not contained in it.
