The Curtiss Tomahawk Mk.II masking set in 1:48 scale from the Art Scale brand, listed in the name as double-sided. It serves for painting a finished model; no plastic is in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of covering masks for a model of the British version of the Curtiss fighter in 1:48. It marks off the areas during spraying so that the transitions come out crisp and the modeler does not have to cut the shapes laboriously out of tape. The double-sided label is the only difference in the name against the single-sided variant of the same type.
The name Tomahawk Mk.II was carried by the Curtiss fighters delivered to Britain at the beginning of the 1940s. They flew over North Africa with RAF squadrons as well as with South African units; further examples went to the Soviet Union and to the American volunteers in China. The power came from a liquid-cooled Allison V12, which gave the nose its typical slender silhouette. The machine did not excel at high altitude, but it took hard handling and suited tasks at low level over the front.
Degrease the surface before masking and let it mature fully; on fresh paint the edges hold worse. Seat the stencils and press them down carefully around the perimeter, so that nothing creeps underneath. Prefer to spray in two light coats; a heavy layer peels off along with the ground when the masks are lifted.
The aircraft itself is not included; the set deals purely with painting a model that is already built.
