The artwork captures the area of the forward deck lift of the Canadian aircraft carrier Bonaventure in the state that the name dates to 1965. The product serves as a base on which you display a finished model; kits and accessories are not part of it.
The Bonaventure was the only aircraft carrier the Royal Canadian Navy operated as a full carrier after her construction was completed. The hull came about during the Second World War in Britain as a unit of a light carrier class, but construction stopped and completion took place only in the 1950s, this time for Canada and with more modern equipment, including an angled landing deck and a steam catapult. She entered service in 1957 and carried out mainly anti-submarine tasks in the North Atlantic. For a short time she carried jet machines too; later her air group was limited to anti-submarine aircraft and helicopters. She was withdrawn from service in 1970, that is only a few years after the period the motif refers to.
The lift is a smaller section of deck, so the scene comes out best with one model and one or two figures. If you are building a machine with folding wings, it is exactly here that the folded position makes the most sense; it was designed for lifts precisely. The tie-down points on the deck can be suggested with thin copper wire.
