The color base 1:72 IJN Zuikaku 1944 Deck carries the artwork of the flight deck of the Japanese carrier in a form dated to the last year of her service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The motif of this base comes from the flight deck of the Japanese carrier Zuikaku as the name dates it to 1944. The word Deck in the label refers to a continuous deck area, not to the lift, which is covered by a separate item. The layout allows for models built in 1:72 scale.
The Zuikaku was among the most capable aircraft carriers of the Imperial Japanese Navy and entered service in the autumn of 1941. She went through a series of key engagements of the Pacific war, from the opening operations through the Battle of the Coral Sea to the fighting of 1944. The end of her career came in October of that year during a large naval battle off the Philippines, when the Japanese carriers served only as bait for the American forces.
Japanese decks have a darker tone, so lighter models stand out on them better than dark-finished machines. It pays to add set-down equipment or a figure of a mechanic to the scene, which will help judge the size. Before photographing, check whether any dust is left on the area; on a saturated ground it shows more than elsewhere.
It is supplied on its own, with no models and no further accessories.
