A tool handle from DSPIAE intended for cutting edges of the WING series. The collet takes a shank of 3.175 mm diameter, the standard on which this group of scribing tools is built. The WING series blade itself is not included and is ordered according to the width of groove you need for a build. Anyone who already owns one body buys another precisely so as not to have to swap tools over.
There are nine color forms of the body in all and it is worth using them as a system: assign one shade to a particular width and you do not have to decipher small markings on metal while you work. Once you have three or four tools ready on the bench at the same time, telling them apart by sight is markedly faster and you make substantially fewer mistakes. With fine sizes a mix-up is moreover recognized only by the result, that is too late.
The purple body will be appreciated by builders of aircraft and vehicles who restore gaps after sanding and want every width permanently fitted in a different holder. It also suits anyone who so far owns a single holder and has found that swapping blades over in the middle of the work holds them up and needlessly raises the risk of damaging the tip.
