A fine hand tool of tungsten steel in the 0.1 mm size from the YPB line. For the finest holes and for cleaning up small details on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 0.1 mm size is at the limit of what can still sensibly be drilled and cleaned in modeling. At that size holes are made for rigging wires on ships and biplanes, for antennas, for thin tubing and runs in landing gear bays or for fixing small photo-etched parts with wire. Tungsten steel is very hard, which on a tool this small means that it keeps its point for a long time; at the same time it is brittle and does not tolerate being levered sideways.
This is a single tool from the YPB line in the 0.1 mm size. It is worked by hand, by turning and with minimal pressure, so in larger modeling work it replaces neither a scriber nor a drill but complements them where they are already too coarse.
Clamp the tool in a holder with a good grip so that it does not slip while you turn it. Mark the spot in advance, otherwise the point will wander across a smooth surface. Turn it smoothly and press as little as possible; it is the point that does the work, not the force of the hand. Never lever the tool sideways and do not try to widen a hole with it by pulling; at this size it breaks easily. After the work, clean the dust off the point and set it down so that it rests against nothing hard. Check the recommended speeds and any clamping in a machine in the manufacturer's instructions.
For modelers who work on fine details, holes for rigging wires and installations in the small scales. A holder for the tool and the other sizes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
