A pair of modular AASM 250 bombs on the French CBEMS body. The same guidance kit as on the American variant, only on a differently shaped bomb body.
Responsibility details are not available.
A modular air-to-ground armament consists of two bolted-on parts: a guidance head at the front and a propulsion stage with deployable surfaces at the rear. Between them belongs the bomb body itself, and that is exactly what differs with this variant. The abbreviation CBEMS denotes a bomb body of French production, which has a different outline and differently solved attachment points than the more common American type. The weight category stays two hundred and fifty kilograms.
The choice is not cosmetic. Both bodies occurred in service, but not at the same time on every machine, so if you are building a model from a particular photograph, go by the shape visible on it. Anyone building without a fixed real subject can reach for either; both correspond to the real equipment of French combat aircraft of the last two decades.
Whereas from the kit a smooth classic store tends to be available, here an assembly with a distinctly broken-up tail and an angular nose hangs under the wing. Two pieces in the package will cover both halves of the wing and, seen from the front, will change the outline of the machine substantially.
The casting is first freed of the remains of the pour and washed; once dry, the real form can be imitated: the body in one shade, the surfaces and the head tend to be differentiated. The decals enclosed carry small warning markings and the colored bands by which live munitions are distinguished from training ones.
