A set of parts intended for a Rafale model in 1:48 scale. It contains two pieces of the part designated AT730, two pieces of PU708 and six pieces of AAS250 in the version given as Body CBMS. An decal sheet that belongs to the parts is included, so the lettering and the markings do not have to be solved from leftovers of other sheets. The designation of the individual items follows the marking used by the maker of the set.

The real subject

The Dassault Rafale is a French multirole combat aircraft. You will recognize it by its delta wing complemented by foreplanes just behind the cockpit, which give it agility as well as the ability to make a slow approach. It flies in a land-based and a naval version and is built so that the same aircraft can handle air combat, attacks on ground targets and reconnaissance without conversion. For a modeler that means the look of any particular aircraft changes a great deal according to what that machine has hung under its wing and fuselage.

Working with the parts and the decals

• Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder carefully.
• The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate rather than with liquid cement for plastic.
• Wash and degrease them before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold.
• Apply the decals from water onto parts that have been painted and coated with gloss varnish.
• Fit them onto the model as late as possible, so that the small parts do not get in the way while the whole is painted.

For builders of the Rafale in 1:48 scale who want to complete a model with parts beyond the contents of the box. A kit, paints, varnishes and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
