A detail cockpit set for the Fairchild Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. It is a resin accessory that replaces the basic cockpit interior from a plastic kit with a finely detailed assembly: a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles, a control stick and a seat.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American single-seat twin-engine aircraft intended for close support of ground troops, brought into service in the 1970s. It is marked by a rugged structure, good survivability and a rotary cannon in the forward part of the fuselage. The single-seat A-10A version was the basic production variant of the type.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding. The interior comes into its own best once painted and the details picked out gently with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
